What is segway?
The Segway® Personal Transporter (PT) is a two wheeled, self balancing electric vehicle first unveiled to the world on December 3rd 2001.
When Dean Kamen unveiled the Segway® Personal Transporter (PT) on ABC’s Good Morning America, he described the machine as “the world’s first self-balancing human transporter.” When you look at the machine in motion, you get an idea of what he’s talking about.
Computers and motors in the base of the device keep the Segway® PT upright when powered on with balancing enabled.
Users simply lean forward to go forward, lean back to go backward, and turn by using a “Lean Steer” handlebar, leaning it left or right. LeanSteer® technology immediately sends the user gliding in the precise direction they want to go, at exactly the speed they want to travel.
